Putney scores highly in the new English Baccalaureate.
The Government has today released figures measuring schools in England according to how many pupils achieve grades A*-C in five core GCSE subjects - maths, English, two science qualifications, a foreign language and either history or geography.
This is a restrictive list of subjects.
The figures show that 89 per cent of Putney girls achieved this measure.
It should be noted that Putney offers pupils a strong and varied choice of rigorous academic subjects far beyond those included in the E-Bacc.
With subjects such as Classical Civilisation and Religious Studies not considered to be humanities for the purpose of this measurement, it is inevitable that not every one of our girls will have achieved the E-Bacc in its limited form.
