Putney High School girls have collected their eagerly-awaited results this morning - after two years of hard work and commitment. Well done everyone!
Many high-achievers have reached the top grades in all their subjects. 44% of students have gained three or more 'A' grades with nine planning to take up places at Oxbridge this year.
Sciences, Mathematics and Languages are very strong this year as Putney High School continues to buck the national trend that has seen numbers of students studying these subjects decline.
All girls who studied science are planning to take up their first choice of a University place - three of which are at Oxbridge. Language results have also been extremely successful with all Spanish students receiving 'A' grades.
Headmistress, Dr Denise Lodge, said today:
“These results are fantastic and I'm so proud of how hard the girls have worked to achieve them. Sciences, Mathematics and Languages are popular amongst students here and commonly yield exceptional results which reflect the standard of teaching at Putney High as well as the huge commitment from the girls themselves. The girls have been incredibly successful this year and I wish them all the best for the future.”
