Linnea Bengtsson,Year 10, has just returned from a week as one of 30 “Barclay’s ballkids” at the ATP World Tour Finals at the O2.This event involves only the top eight male players in the World, including Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray.

Linnea’s selection followed a nationwide competition in which 2500 children, aged  12 – 16,  attended 14 regional trials, culminating in a National trial overseen by Boris Becker and Mark Petchey.

Linnea attended a weekend training camp in Coventry, a week’s residential camp at half -term in Southampton and for the event itself, she stayed with the other ‘ballkids’ in Greenwich.

She was also involved in various media events, including a photoshoot for next year’s ballkids campaign and writing a blog for the Barclays Ballkids website.

Particular highlights were meeting all the players informally backstage for photographs and autographs, helping to run ballkid clinics - including one with Djokovic (pictured) -  and ballgirling the Federer -Tsonga final.
