Year 9 has studied the Great War in History lessons and completed this unit by spending a day in Belgium visiting sites associated with the war. They discussed fighting methods and the use of gas at the preserved trenches at Bayernwald and on Hill 60; they were guided by ex-soldiers who drew on a little on their personal experiences in the tour. The formal part of the day ended at Tyne Cot, the largest cemetery in this area , where girls took part in a brief ceremony of remembrance and a representative of the school laid a wreath
