Book of the Week: The Sense of an Ending

Book of the WeekFollowing Putney’s Prizegiving Day we feature the 2011 Man Booker prizewinner, The Sense of an Ending, by Julian Barnes. The story, about the fortunes of a group of school friends, is brief but masterful. The central character  is a seemingly ordinary man who, when revisiting his past in later life, discovers that the memories he holds are less than perfect.

Available in the Senior School Library – and a forthcoming title for discussion in the Sixth Form Book Club
