Year 12 Economists went to the City of London. They visited the Bank of England, where they learned more about monetary policy and the Bank’s role in steering the economy through the recent recession. They also visited the London Metal Exchange, where they were able to see the very exciting and noisy trading floor and the latest metal prices that affect global markets. In these two visits, the girls saw economic theory in action. They also learned about some of the City’s other landmark institutions and building on the way
