Hong earned a nomination for a national Teaching Award.

As well as helping to equip Putney girls with a passion and interest in the Chinese language and culture, Hong has been instrumental in establishing the school’s link with the Jin Yuan Senior High School in her native Shanghai.

Headmistress Dr Denise Lodge said: “Hong herself brings an incredible vitality which is so inspiring for our girls. We are delighted that she has received this recognition.”
