Maths Day for Years 5 and 6 began with girls bringing in their specially designed ‘maths hats’. There were many inventive and creative pieces but the winner was Oonagh Taylor who created an ingenious revision aid designed to help improve simple mental calculation skills. A workshop was run by the Enigma Project, which included a demonstration using the Enigma code breaking machine. The girls enjoyed learning about the history of code breaking but the real highlight was becoming code breakers themselves. It seems we have a few budding Alan Turings amongst us!
