Olympic hopefuls

Ball girlsSeven sixth formers are waiting to hear whether they are through to the London Olympics – as ball girls.

As part of the Young Games Maker Programme, the girls were chosen to attend a selection event at South Thames College in Wandsworth. During a gruelling two hour session, the girls demonstrated their communication skills, energy, coordination and enthusiasm.

If the girls win through to the next round, there will be training sessions leading up to the 2012 Olympics before a final selection is made. The successful candidates will be ball girls at the Olympic tennis competition.
