Oscar winner opens Sixth Form Centre


Official Opening of Sixth Form CentreJenny Beavan has been nominated for an Academy Award nine times – most recently for The King’s Speech.


She won an Oscar for A Room with A View and other nominations included for Gosford Park and Sense and Sensibility. Most recently she provided the costumes for the latest Sherlock Holmes film.
Jenny – who left Putney in 1968 - was joined by girls, staff and the wider Putney community at the opening ceremony for the state-of-the-art new Sixth Form Centre.


Outstanding facilities include an internet cafe, rooftop terrace and a fitness centre. Study areas have been designed specifically for sixth formers, with cutting edge technology and latest design features.
The GDST has invested £5 million in the project, which represents a significant new chapter in the life of the school.
