Putney girls win 'green essay' competition

ImageKeen to be green: Four Putney girls have won prizes for essays written about reducing the effects of our carbon footprints - organised by the London Rotarians.

The girls, pictured here, (Madeline O'Riorden and Beth Tulley in Year 10 and Francesca Hine, Year 9, in the centre) and on the front page (Tara Watkiss, Year 9) received a certificate and book vouchers.

The essays were titled "How worried should we be about our carbon footprint?" and girls were given a week to research their work independently. They focussed on the effects of our carbon footprints and how these could be reduced through cutting energy use.

Well done girls!
