89 girls, plus ten members of staff and a guest organist, spent the first
part of the half term break singing and sight-seeing in Venice, with
excursions to Padua and Verona. The trip was blessed by cloudless skies
and the opportunity to sing in such prestigious venues was truly life
enhancing.
The photograph shows the choir 'in action' in the Frari church, in front
of Titian's matchless altarpiece. Monteverdi, whose music was a feature of the repertoire, is buried just to the left of the picture.
The choir also sang in the Redentore church, St Mark's and Venice's old
cathedral as well as the Basilica of St Antony in Padua.
