Putney High School has one of the top sixth forms in London. We seek intelligent, articulate and enthusiastic students who would relish the academic and extra- curricular challenges that Putney High School has to offer.
We do not have a deadline for applications for entry into the Sixth Form and we welcome applications throughout the year.
However, if you would like to apply for a scholarship or a bursary, then applications should be submitted by Thursday 18th November 2010.
A number of sixth form scholarships are awarded in the following categories: academic, art, drama, music, sport, modern foreign languages and science. Scholarships can be up to a maximum of 50 per cent of fees.
This year’s scholarship examination takes place at school on Friday 3rd December 2010.
All students who apply to Putney High School are invited to the school for an interview. This interview includes an informal chat with Ms Ellis, the Head of Sixth Form, plus some short meetings with teachers of the subjects that you have chosen to study for A level. You will also have an opportunity to meet a current sixth form student who will show you around the school and answer any further questions that you have.
Offers will be sent out shortly after we have received your references and you have attended your interview.
All offers are conditional on candidates achieving A grades in six GCSE subjects, and As in the subjects you wish to study at A Level.
Summer 2011
All new sixth form students are invited to a ‘Welcome to the Sixth Form’ Day after GCSE examinations. This provides an opportunity for you to meet other new girls and girls from current Year 11, attend a mini ‘Freshers Fair’ where current Sixth Form students will promote their societies to you, and find out what the first week of the Autumn Term has in store.
