The HPA advise us that the girl has not been symptomatic whilst she has been in school and it is unlikely to have been passed on to other girls. Her symptoms were short-lived and relatively mild, and she did not need to go to hospital.
The Health Protection Agency is in close contact with the school and they will advise us if the situation were to change. If this happens we will of course communicate arrangements to parents as swiftly as possible.
If any parent has concerns about their daughter’s health they should contact their GP directly.
However, it is important not to unnecessarily worry children, parents or staff and to remember that all swine flu cases in the UK have to date been treated successfully.
