As part of their visit, Year 5 spent time in the Design Technology: Resistant Materials Department. They sketched models of multi-functional chairs aimed at a specific target market  such as grandparents or friends. They produced imaginative concepts including chairs with knitting needle holders, retractable tables, flexible reading lamps and folding beds for sleepovers!
