How to Apply

The first step to joining Putney High School is by registering your daughter. Simply complete an application form by contacting us to have one posted to you along with a prospectus.

Once completed please return this to the Admissions Secretary together with a cheque for a registration fee of £50. Full details of assessments will then be sent to you.

Admissions into the Junior Department:

4+ Entry

Assessments take place at our Junior Department in Lytton House. Registration must be made in the year prior to entry and girls must be 4 years old by the 31st August prior to entry in that September. Places will be offered following an informal assessment which takes approximately one and a half hours.

Admissions into the Senior Department:

11+ Entry

To join us in the Senior Department all applications should be submitted when your daughter enters Year 6 in her current school, together with a cheque for a registration fee of £50. The entrance examination includes English, Mathematics papers and a friendly interview. Only girls sitting the examination on the official date will be considered for a scholarship.

Sixth Form Entry

Conditional offers depend on candidates achieving six GCSE subjects at grades A-B with As in the subjects they wish to study at A Level. There is also an interview held with the Head of Sixth Form and some Heads of Departments.

Please note that sometimes there are vacancies across many year groups due to parents relocating to other parts of the country.

If your daughter would like a place and doesn’t fall into the usual entry levels of 4+, 11+ and 16+ please do contact the school to see if any places are available in other year groups.
