Celebrating Record Results!
PUTNEY HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS RETURN FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO COLLECT RECORD “A” LEVEL RESULTS.

Putney High School is celebrating continuing success today with its best ever performance at “A” level. Girls have come in to collect their eagerly-awaited results, with many high-achievers breaking records this year. Many have recently returned from voluntary expeditions to far-flung destinations such as Tanzania, Ecuador, Honduras and India, where new links were being forged with India’s top girls’ school, the MGD School in Jaipur.  Others have been representing the school playing lacrosse and netball on tour in Canada and the USA.

All girls passed their A Levels with 34 girls (56%of the year) achieving three or more ‘A’ grades and 10 students being awarded 4 As.  94% of the results were grades A or B.  Furthermore, of 8 students taking the Advanced Extension Awards, three were awarded distinctions and four merits.  In all, nine girls achieved the grades required for their places at Oxford or Cambridge.

Headmistress, Dr Denise Lodge, said today:

“We are all delighted with these outstanding results which really reflect the standard of teaching here at Putney High as well as the huge commitment from the girls themselves. The girls have shown that it possible to combine a wide range of extra-curricular interests with extremely high academic achievement.”
